Tessa the Fighter

Aloha Kakahiaka kakou (good morning everyone), I had the privilege to coach Tessa & her big sister Taylor in tennis when they were two inseparable little girls eager to get on the court to compete against other players in the group or against each other. The one trait that stood out to me as a coach was the determination Tessa possessed. She was not the most skillful, fastest or strongest yet she competed with a fiery spirit that cannot be taught. I still remember trying to coach her through a high school district match final, while she was not feeling well that day. I told her you don't have to play you can stop and she said "I can do this Coach"& went out there to give it her all. She didn't win that match but she won my heart & respect forever.
