Tessa and I lived together at UVA Law. One of my favorite things about her was that she had a saying or abbreviation for just about everything. Like when we went to our first law school party, she kept saying "FLSP!" (first law school party). Or when we'd talk about boys, it was a "bupdate" (boy update). She was a dream to live (and host parties!) with. I am so sad that she won't be coming back to school to finish what we started. She was going to be an amazing lawyer.
I have a lot of funny memories with Tessa, but I have one particularly funny one to share. When her cancer recurred, we decided to throw a party the night before chemo started. I ordered a cake that said "F*ck Cancer" for the party, and right after we took a picture with it Tessa turned to me and said "does this mean I've said a cuss word?!" I'm pretty sure I assured her that it didn't mean she'd said a cuss word. But oh my goodness she was so pure of heart. I miss her.
